Commissioning
Between these two phases, there is a short period consisting of putting an installation back into service that has often been shut down for a long time and where all actions can take on a critical nature and where special attention is necessary to “feel” the behavior of the machine tested and anticipate its reactions and those of its environment.
An installation is monitored by its monitoring and safety system but this does not correspond to the requirements of a restart, it is calibrated for operation at a given load, power and it cannot integrate the lack of awareness of the risk by repair personnel who are not used to installations in service and their dangers.
On an installation that has remained shut down, there is always a loss of reflex and it is rare during a restart that the operating team can concentrate solely on the machine being restarted. A propulsion engine is only one component of the propulsion chain and the power energy part will quickly mask the mechanical priorities of the drive machine just started.
This situation usually leaves the repairer in a certain perplexity because he rightly presents that not all measures are taken to optimize this phase.
With its experience with Engine Manufacturers, ADR knows how to bring its know-how at these times and ensure that the work carried out by a third party can express its full potential and give full satisfaction to the operator.
The link between the repairer and the operator: Whatever the engine, whatever the maintenance carried out, whatever the installation, whether marine or land, ADR Specialists will bring their know-how and prevent a recommissioning from turning into a breakdown as we have encountered too often.
